I wanted to get her something to kind of show appreciation type of thing. Didn't want to get the typical flowers but the right kind of plant might work. She wouldn't want me to spend a lot of money either. We're talking like no more than $150 or so. THanks for the ideas.

Maybe a bracelet or necklace or ring with the childs birth stone or name on it. You could even just go with a piece of jewelry not related to the baby or a spa gift certificate would be a great idea as well! Good Luck!

A small diamond pendant/earring or any other small piece of jewellery with her birthstone, post-natal massage session all sound good to me. Lots of love and patience and of course some help around the house after the baby arrives are also added gifts Congrats on the baby and you sound like a good hubby man. |

Well my husband got me the typical flowers and balloons, but he also got me a gift certificate to a day spa around here. About 4 weeks after I had my son (when i was feeling mobile again) he watched Tyler so I could go get my hair/nails done and a nice massage too. 3 hours of personal mommy alone time, and being pampered too; it was wonderful!! (the package cost him 200. . . but there were many choices, but happened to be what he choose). Just a thought! Good luck. . . and congrats on the (soon) addition to the family!

The best gift you can give your wife is your help. Help her around the house doing things that she normally does (such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, etc) AND help her with your baby so that she can get some sleep. If you really want to get her something, get her something that she can keep forever (such as a diamond pendant or earrings that she can wear later and remember forever what it was for).Good luck with your new family and congratulations!

This must be a new thing! I had four children and my husband never got me a gift for having a child. If you want to show your appreciation, maybe some type of jewelry. I have always felt it took two to have the baby and my husband always helped out a lot. I remember when I came home with the third and had some girlfriends stop by, he made coffee and tea for them. I sure thought that was nice.

Help her out as much as possible, tell her she's beautiful, and get her a mother's ring and anything that seems like it would make her life easier when she's not going to get much sleep for a while. You sound like a great guy! She's a lucky lady.
