Another idea is perhaps a bottle of sparkling wine since owning a house is a celebration. Otherwise, I would recommend a red wine like a pinot noir or a zin. They are generally lighter on the taste. However, here are some reds (merintage) that are VERY good and under $20. 1. SIMI Alexander Vally Cab2. Cinnebar's Mercury Rising3. Rosenblum's Cuvee4. Gallo Sonoma - the Sonoma part is VERY importantIf you're looking for something a bit more expensive, ping me. I can give you a nice list based on your price range.

In my experience most red drinkers will also drink white but few white drinkers will drink red. I prefer red, but would be happy to recieve either as a gift. Get good quality though, cheap wine is a false economy.

as a realtor you are helping people buy a home and they need to celebrate. so sparkling wine comes to mind first. I would do a nice blanc de blancs.me personally, I would rather have somebody give me a red over a white. Probably a zinfandel (the red kind) or sangiovese. For what i would do a pinot grigio or sauvginon blanc. Chardonnay is safe, but not always that good. These days they are way to oaky and taste funny.i would definately not do a rose. I work in the wine industry and I have yet to find a rose that I like. they are all way too sweet for me.
