My baby shower is this Saturday, I am so excited!!! This is my first Anyway, Somewhere around 30 people have given their RSVP, there are about 10 games planned.. and the invites state that the shower will be from 1-4pm.. How long do you think it will take to open that many gifts?? what is the secret to a successful BIG baby shower? I dont want to bore people.. taking forever opening gifts.. we have about 10 games planned. and prizes, and there are some good favors that my "party planners" got.. Any suggestions?!?! thanks!!!lol!! we only planned on about 4 real games.. and then the rest are the ones like "dont say baby" and stuff like that.. they are not the formal "pen and paper" kinds of games |

| Sorry, but my suggestion is much less games! Those games are cute, but that's just too many!!! Open your gifts, and have some time to visit with your guests. One or two games is fine, but believe me, NO ONE wants to play 10 games. Have fun! |

| Maybe you could spend your time with your guests and open your gifts at home once everyone is gone..... just be sure to send thank you notes out for all the girfts.Be sure to stop and talk with everyone that attends even if it is only for a minute or two, just so that everyone feels welcomed. Make your rounds and then enjoy your day.Best of luck, and congrats! |

| you can do the game where no one can say baby everyone gets 3 clothes pins on their shirt when they come in and if you hear someone say baby you can take one of their pins. whoever has the most at the end wins something. also you can freeze little plastic babies in ice cubes and put them in cups and when the baby floats to the top they yell my water broke and they win something. those are good becuz they kinda take the whole time to play. also you'll want to have like a veggie tray and maybe one with meats and cheeses with crackers. also it shouldn't take long to open the gifts just say who its from and say your thank yous then move on to the next one. i someone would throw me another baby shower. i want one so bad!!! i love it! |

With that many people coming, I'd suggest not playing so many games...that many people, that many games, and you're likely to run out of time...and then again, there's 30 presents to open, which will take ages as well...at least an hour if you want to get a good look at everything, plus everyone else will want to examine each gift, so you've got to put time in between each one that you open...so my suggestion is to maybe play 2 games, and then that leaves time to open your gifts and time or people to simply interact with each other without there being so much structured activity.Good luck, and have fun...good name choice, my son's name is Noah as well! |

| Little games are ok. I just dont think your party will be long enough in the day, for that much things. You're thinking you will have a brunch, or something... Or lunch, then games, and presents? GOOD LUCK! Its NOT going to happen. I would maybe start party with some appetizers. Play a game. Win a prize, then play another one. When you are done with that game. Open some gifts. EVERYONE WANTS TO SEE U OPEN THE GIFTS. I would say the answer with the wait til you get home, YEAH RIGHT! That is the MOST fun at the shower, is seeing what you get! ha ha! So, then eat some food. Play another game. Then open some more gifts. Then, cut the cake... And open the rest of the gift, and maybe do a "grand finale" and just show off all those gifts you got earlier again, just to show them all off once more. It will make the people feel good that bought you the gifts. I am the party PERSON. My sons baby shower had 50 people almost. And we are planning his first birthday party (birthday baby luau, here in in Hawaii its called) and there will be about 300 people there. So, I know parties.... LEt me know if u need any other advise... Have fun! And wear something super cute! |

might want to make sure you have plenty of munchies. i made hot wings and had some bread and spinach dip and pizza people with food are always happier than hungry guests...mine was a smaller shower, but everyone had fun...and my husband got a few people a little tipsy. (there was a game that involved chugging from a baby bottle). hey just cause i cant imbibe, doesnt mean my friends cant have a little.i also agree, that might be a few too many games. btw, especially if you have guys coming to the shower, be sure that the gifts are appropriate. i got a potted flower bulb at one of my friends, boo....so i did target/bestbuy cards at mine |

| With around 30 people attending 4 games should be just fine. It's going to be a bit time consuming with that many guest so just play it by ear. After awhile games get boring. |

| People won't get bored watching you open the stuff. They love that. Act really excited about each gist and talk about what it will be like to use it, "I just can't wait to wrap the baby up in this." People enjoy seeing their gift opened. |

| Most of the baby showers that I have been to play about 3-5 games. There is nothing wrong with 10 games but just dont play them straight in a row. Mix them up a little bit. For example, If you are going to play a game that you cant cross legs or a game that you cant say baby then maybe you could put that into the time while everyone is eating or while you are opening presents. Play a few games right as everyone arrives and maybe a few right before everyone leaves. This is an exciting time for you and it is so fun to go home after the shower and look through what you got and put things away. Have fun! |

Honestly i had a baby shower with 40 people! It was crazy and insane i had no idea their were that many people going to be their! At first my husband wasnt going to go and then he ended up going. Their was LOTS of food and LOTS of presents. My shower was "floating" from 2-5 and everyone came from beg and stayed to the end. We had NO GAMES with all those people me and my husband didnt even see each other but like 15 min the whole party because we had to talk and entertain our guests, and presents yea that took an hour to open them all! Our shower went soo well and all we did was chit chat with family and friends eat some food and open our presents in front of everyone. I think people put WAY TO MUCH into it, and you waste to much money. I got beautiful pictures, awsome family and friends time and plenty of presents and money, to the point where we do not need anything else but baby now! |
