He's 22, likes skateboarding, graffiti, drugs, comic books, punk rock, alaska, kids, RPGs, beer, tattoos, snowboarding(his newly aquired skill) and me. I want to get him something that he'll use and enjoy. Not terribly sentimental (framed pictures, teddy bears, etc.) but still personal. Guys, what would you want? girls, what do you think he'd want?

Snowboarding, a nice sweater or someother cold weather gear he can use. (avoid the drugs though!) Take him to a sports store and tell him someone else you know is also getttng into it and ask what they need... get an idea what he does and doesn't have and fill in the blanks.

I have a ton of ideas for you but not sure how much you want to spend. Snowboarding interest offers a bunch of cool ideas from expensive to not so expensive and may be found on-line or at sporting goods stores: Cool boarding jacket (get a good brand, waterproof, warm & better to have it long enough so that when you fall your butt is covered), sporty lightweight pullovers that are designed to hold warmth in w/o a bunch of thick clothes (North Face & Columbia are killer brands designed for this), boarding gloves (padded, waterproof, warm and great designs), Smartwool makes cool socks that are thicker in the front to avoid the boot rub on your shins plus very warm, there are neat clips that you can get for the zipper of jackets that show things like time/temp/compass, also there are really funky/punk style winter hats I see guys sporting while they are boarding. You could buy something like the gloves and have 2 ski tickets inbetween the gloves (this could tie into a romantic weekend at a ski base for two!). I've also seen some crazy cool skateboarding tee's. Those are also at local shops or online. You could also get him a cool sporty watch - one that would withstand the elements (falling, cold, etc.). I really love mountain gear clothing and will tell you to buy the good brands because they work better, last longer, look cooler and in the end will be the best. Also MP3 players are always cool for downloading music favs. They have Sport MP3 players that are great for active people to listen to during sports w/o skipping or breaking (also some are waterproof). I have a sport one that I use for running and I love it (Sony), it is small, great memory, sounds FANTASTIC, does not skip, is waterproof and can handle if you drop or sweat on it! Also only cost about $100. Okay - that is my 2 cents! Good luck!!
