I am a small business owner who distributes products andmy best customer which represents about 50% of my total business asked me for some sort of contribution for their Christmas Party. I plan on getting about 4 gift cards each worth $50 from a decent restaurant. They will randomly give these out to employees at their companies Christmas Party.I plan on giving each of the 4 gift cards in a 4 plain white envelopes. Should I include my business card in each envelope as well along with the gift card?Should I also give a seperate gift to some of the managers who treat me good and continue to trust me and buy lots of products from me? They are really good people.Any help would be appreciated.

Business cards: I'd say yes, but trust your instinct about whether you think anyone there would be offended. You know them best.Extra gifts: if it's in your budget. Nurture relationships that are good to you. When you say, "They are really good people," it sounds like you already know the answer is yes. These gifts need not be extravagant, I think.

I would expect to find a business card(at least) in such a door prize. Often I've seen more. Some companies have guidelines about what employees can accept as personal gifts. Here in Canada, most often I've heard a limit of $20. The way around that is to give one large gift to the team or office. Gift baskets of candy are common. The other issue that comes to mind with giving gifts to managers is the possibility of offending those you don't give gifts too. If you do decide to give gifts at this level, make sure that they are given discretely or given to the entire team.
