|
|
Okay, my best friend is having a little girl (her first) in feburary, alot of what she already has is second hand including the careseat (I know I cringed too.) What in your opinions are Must Haves for new parents? I was going to get her a really cute bouncy seat, but she just got a second hand one on thanks giving. Thanks for any advice!I love the idea if a diaper cake, but not so sure of the cleanliness of all the diapers being out in the open. Would they be okay? I mean to use?

I found that the best presents that I got at my baby shower are the little things most ppl don't think about. I was given a big hamper with nappies, wipes, laundry powder, dummies all that kind of stuff. Another thing that would be a great gift is a photography sitting or the plaster hand and feet casts, they are something that will be with them forever! Good Luck!

if you are at all crafty you should make a diaper cake! they are useful because let's face it... she'll need the diapers and you can put little surprises in the center, like bottles and onesies and pacifiers. here is a picture of one that i made for a friend and it turned out beautifully.http://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a326/brandimonkey/diapercake3.jpghttp://i14.photobucket.com/albums/a326/brandimonkey/diapercake4.jpg

An automatic baby swing is nice. Boppys are also something my baby liked. Undershirts, onsies and pampers are always needed.

I have a three your old and i was lost when it came to baby's. I went threw burp rags and onsies everyday all day. I wish i would have gotten more at my baby shower!! Another thing that came in handy was something kinda like a bouner....you sit the baby in it and there are toys and mirrors all along the top so everytime the baby turns there is a new toy to play with or look at...My son LOVED it!!!

Practical is the way to go, those are the gifts from my shower that I appreciated most! I got a cool pack that straps onto your stroller and carries wipes, a travel changing table, 2 diapers, and rash cream and it's small - soo cool! A sling to carry a newborn in - they're amazing!Diaper BagBreast Pump (NOT the Evenflo Brand - bad bad bad reviews!!)Bottles, binky's, wipes, diapersBoppy pillowBurp cloths/receiving blanketsBaby First Aid kit (with thermometers etc)Hope this gets you a good list of idea's, most of this stuff you don't want to get second hand for sanitary reasons! Best of luck to you and CONGRATS your friend!Toni Lynne =) 37 weeks pregnant-it's a girl too!

Personalized gifts are always special. How about a personalized sign for the nursery that accents the décor? They have cute ones here: http://www.mysweetandsour.com/ The artist is a mom.

Diaper cakes are really popular and cute! You can purchase one or you can make one yourself. It is not as difficult as it appears. There are directions here http://www.baby-shower-at-work.com/Making-a-Baby-Shower-Diaper-Cake.html Don't worry about them getting dirty because you can cover the diapers with receiving blankets or ribbon! You can even wrap it up in cellophane if you would like.I did the second hand thing also when I had my second child. My favorite gift at my Baby Shower was a gift set for me! That may sound selfish but it had lotion, aroma candles, body wash, etc. They also gave me an infant seat and I could put the baby in there while I used all the products! There are more great ideas at http://www.baby-shower-at-work.com/Gift-Ideas.html
