I'm 25 and I've been dating this guy who's in his 30s for about 3-4 months now. It's Christmastime and I'm at a lose as to what to get him. I thought of cologne, but he'd only wear it w/ me since he doesn't wear it often. He has enough watches, he's not too tech-savvy, and I wanted to do something different than DVDs or a sweater. He's a big guy and I'm kinda short and I affectionately call him my "teddy bear". So I'm flirting with the idea of getting him a personalized teddy bear from Build-a-Bear and since he's a Chicago sports fan, have the bear dressed in either White Sox or Chicago Bears garb. I mean, it has sentimental value and a bit of his own personality with the sports stuff. I'm just not sure if a grown-ass man would like something like that or if a teddy bear would be too juvenile a gift.Feedback or any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes. Sorry. How about tickets to a game, or a sports jersey?

My husband is 31 and would less than thrilled to get a teddy bear for Christmas. Even if it was wearing his favorite teams jersey! What are his hobbies? Go with that!

I'd love a teddy bear, especially if she's cute and cuddly and about 25 or 30.

At first reading your headline I would have said "No!" but then reading the detailed question, I would think that he possibly would like that, it sounds like you have put a lot of thought into it and it is suppose to be the thought that counts! Good luck and I hope you have a Merry Christmas!

I think it would be cute, depending on his personality. But, I would get him something with it, like a gift card or something.

i think a teddy bear would make a great gift. after all it is your heart that counts. he would understand you if you are true loves. you would make him remember all of his favorite items or objects. this is very creative and nobody would think of this right. it is also personalized. many people just go out and buy a gift but you are making your own present. i think you should give it to him.

It's definately a cute idea for a kid; not a grown man though. Perhaps a token (teddy bear) keychain or ornament (or something) that symbolizes him as your teddy bear. I think you're on to something better when you talk about his liking the Chicago Sports teams.......there's got to be somewhere you could buy him a jersey and have his last name personalized on the back?Good Luck to you! Hope all goes well~Peace & KindnessAn aside......if you do get him the teddy bear, and you end up married with kids with him......it'll be a great keepsake that the kids will LOVE! lolBelow is a link for chicago bears memorabilla.....as it seems to encompass what you're looking for. Either way, I got to give you props for thinking it all out!

I think if I were him that I would like it. It shows you put alot of thought into it and didn't just cheap out and get something as impersonal as a gift card or money. Maybe you could get the voice box and record you saying "I love you Teddy Bear" Or something like that. Oh, you could also try to get the Elvis Presley Song "(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear" on it: Baby let me be,Your lovin teddy bearPut a chain around my neck,And lead me anywhereOh let me beYour teddy bear.I dont wanna be a tigerCause tigers play too roughI dont wanna be a lioncause lions aint the kindYou love enough.Just wanna be, your teddy bearPut a chain around my neckAnd lead me anywhereOh let me beYour teddy bear.Baby let me be, around you every nightRun your fingers through my hair,And cuddle me real tight

I think that would depend upon his personality. I have a few guy friends would think it was the sweetest gift. I think if he is the least bit romantic he will like it. Good luck!I just read the Elvis comment...I love the idea!

Nice thought and very personal but I wouldn't buy him a teddy bear - why not sponsor a bear at a local zoo or even the Chicago zoo instead and get his name put onto a plate next to where the bear is kept? At least he could tell other people - particularly his friends, what you had bought him without losing face and actually get some kudos with it. It also provides you with another date to go with him to visit the bear. A teddy bear at such an early stage in your relationship might be seen as too soppy, too sentimental and for some men, might be seen as a sign to move on to someone else. Having said this, I have bought a teddy for a man myself and it went down a treat, but it was for my father for father's day after I found out that he had never had a teddy as a child. He was a specialist one off bear, had eyebrows like my father and was called Hero. It can be done, but I think you need to know the recipient really well. If you have any doubts about buying your boyfriend one at all - don't - save yourself the embarassment.

it realy depends on his personality if you get it let it be that something extra gift not the main gift he may thinks it childish. and what happens when people ask him what you got him do you think he's going to want to say a teddy bear? i dont think so. but its a cute idea, like i said as a like extra something gift.
