It depends... It can be a wonderful gift, or it can be cheesy. Are you a good writer, and is your wife a sappy type? If you answered no to either one (or both), such a gift may be leaning towards "cheesy".

That would be a great gift. Might want to add in a bouquet of flowers along with it just in case. Not sure how your wife is so I wouldn't know how she would react. I would love me a gift like that from my husband. To me it is more valuable than a meaningless gift like a diamond ring. A diamond isn't every woman's best friend.

That is soo sweet. She will LOVE it! I wish I would of married you. Your so thoughtful. However why don't you keep writing. You still have so much left to share. Women love handmade and hand wrote things better then diamonds and flowers. Ask any women. Its the gifts from the heart that mean soo much.Your wife is SO lucky to have you.

If your journal is a piece of beauty, with wonderful & special memories that compliment & warm the heart .. then yes !! .. I think it would be a wonderful gift. I am sentimental .. so I would love it.Only thing is ... make sure that nothing insulting is in it.

I think it's a great gift, it's open & honest. Five years is a long enough time for you to give a gift of what's been on your mind. Although you may have a great relationship & communication with your wife, it'll be nice to have a book to read & remininse about good times you two have had with each other...On those days when she's having a bad day or you two are apart for any reason like a trip out of town on a job or whatever, all she's gotta do is look at your journal, it'll be awesome to read when she's missing you....
