I mean, isn't He the reason we have xmas in the first place? I am starting to wonder if Santa Claus actually ruined Xmas, as it is turning into more of a national festival more of a religious one these days, with Santa at the centre of it all.Don't get me wrong, I love Xmas, and I love recieving gifts from 'Father Christmas', and I love playing him and seeing the excitement on the kids faces as they try to force themselves to sleep in anticipation of the following morning. But, the emphasis on Nativity plays at schools and the like seems at the very bottom of peoples adjenda, if at all on it. Not many young kids even know why we celebrate Xmas, and it just doesnt seem right. We all seem to be drifting away from religion at the minute, but we will keep the festivals, making me wonder who the real winners of xmas are, the churches, or the toy shops?A few of you are getting peeved that I used Xmas. Remember, we only get limited amount of characters to use and I did have a lot to say there.Wow you guys really are picking my question apart! Xmas explained above. Most are about the pagan religion, yeah fair one, and its cases like this that undermine the christian faith don't you think? Historians have discovered alot about christianity, and with books like the Da Vinci code and Holy Blood, Holy Grail, how long will christianity last?

Today's children are going to grow up believing that Christmas is the season that Christians celebrate by complaining about how no-one ever talks about Christ. At the rate we're going, in a few years everyone else will have a nice holiday but the Christians will have spent the entire months of November and December complaining about how no-one ever pays attention to them.

He got X'd out by so many. Most can't even be bothered to type Christmas anymore, it's now all about the gifts and the getting. Good thing God is the biggest giver of all.

No. The savior YAHOSHUA was born in the fall. Dec. 25 is a heathen holiday, the birth of the sun God, which is what people worship. (You are familiar with the fact that they worship on SUNDAY?)

Just because Christmas and Christ share five common letters, do not infer that they are related. Christians assimilated this Pagan holiday celebrating the winter solstice and turned it into a recruiting tool to collect souls for Jesus.

Yeshua (Jesus) is not in xmas. Never was, never will be. All the sun-gods from zeus to ra were born on dec. 25th.Yeshua celebrated Hanukkah. Why don't more Christians follow their Messiah? Could it be that the traditions of the elders are more important?"Thou shall not steal" pagan rituals and christianize them.

Actually, Jesus is not the reason for the season as Christians seem to think. Top theologists and historians agree, that if Christ was real, he was not born in December. The tree, exchanging gifts, etc was left over from Pagan Winter Solstice Celebration. Early Christians merely borrowed the holiday claiming it as their own.

Many people will tell you that Jesus was born in September and "Christmas" is a pagan holiday...

From what I hear, Jesus ran afoul of some Romans. If Christians want Christmas to be less of a bash, they probably should have co-opted a more somber, introspective pagan holiday.
