Well she's been hinting too me for the last 6 months to get married.. i.e. " you might as well get me the ring now" and "I don’t want any more jewelry for Christmas unless its a diamond ring" well I bought a ring and im ready to get married and in hoping she is too!there are a couple of events coming up in the next few months i can ask. 1) Christmas i got her this nice jewelry amour and was going to place the ring in there and wrap up the amour, she would basically have two gifts in one!.. My original choice2) new years, at midnight?3) the first time i met her in late January?4) Valentines day? not sure if i can wait that longyou’re opinion would be greatly appreciated! thanks

2 or 3I can't decide.New Years because she'll never forget and you can pretend the fireworks are for her When you met because that shows you remember anniversary's and that's very important to a girl Wink

I'm not a girl, but those fickle things live on sentiment. Even though it's cliche, go for 2 or 3 because they'll have the most meaning to her in later years. It'll make a great story to tell everyone, she'll be thrilled.

Well if you give it to her on Christmas and she doesn't marry you she can by law keep the ring. Since it's technically a Christmas Gift. So that's a def no go. I would go with the first time you met in January.

It's a real toss up between your Christmas idea which is brilliant or your New Years Eve idea which is very romantic.

I say the first one and set your wedding date for number 3 in 2009. Christmas is special and it would benice if the whole family was around. Instead of asking her why not put a note with the ring. That wedding date is romantic and gives you 13 months to plan.Good luck

if i was your gf...i wouldnt mind receiving the engagement ring on any of those occasions you mentioned....anytime is a good time for it....and will be as memorable as any of those dates...what's important is that you are proposing to her and asking her to be a part of your life....and i would think the sooner the better....its soooooo romantic to ask the best way to propose to her....that in itself shows how much you care about her....(lucky, lucky girl) just propose to her....whatever way, wherever and whenever...its gonna give her memories that would last her a lifetime....good luck and congratulations....

definitely no.3 it makes it extra special. and with the rush of Christmas and New Years it won't seem to be the perfect time. On Valentines it's a bit obvious so it's much more special when you to met. Congrats and Merry Christmas

New year, that seems to be a good time, she may be half expecting a ring as her Christmas present, so make her wait a few more days!!

I think the first time you met her..shows you take note of significant points in your relationship. you dont want your engagement to clash with christmas...good luck

Congratulations! This is such an exciting moment so its good to see you are thinking about all the options. Think about your fiance's personality and her reaction. Would she want a crowd to see her get the ring or do you think she wants to make it a private moment? I bet she is expecting it for Christmas- so even though the anniversary of when you met would be special too- she would be a little sad not to see a ring underneath the tree. Let her open her gifts on Christmas and if she seems at all disappointed, put the ring underneath the tree at the end of the night as a gift Santa must have forgotten. If she doesn't seem to have a reaction besides being very pleased with whatever thoughtful presents you have given her...wait till January.
