Religious scholars are all in agreement that Christ was NOT born on "Christmas".. because the date of his birth was not even agreen on for several hundered YEARS after the event and nobody really know the date for certain.Christmas in an old Roman and Pagan holiday

We celebrate the birth of Jesus on Dec. 25 because the Roman emperor would not let the Christians have another holiday, so they chose an existing holiday; that does not make Christmas a pagan holiday, we just celebrate on the same day as another holiday that existed back then.

You're right. Mithras, a pagan idol of the Roman world was born on the 25th of December according to the Julian calendar. Constantine I, the Christian Emperor of the Western and Eastern Roman Empire changed the meaning of the 25th of December in order to ease the transition from a pagan, to a Christian culture.

What... is with ALL.... the periods???Who says I'm celebrating Christmas? I celebrate being with my family and friends. It has nothing to do with your Jesus. Actually it has a lot more to do with pagan traditions than anything remotely Christian. And besides - all the self-proclaimed "true Christians" I know don't have a tree, decorate,or give presents, as they have nothing to do with Jesus at all.

I consider Christmas to be the golden calf of modern Christianity. And every time I mention this to a Christian and they freak out, they prove my point. But Emil me if your interested and I'll give you all the details.I'm not a member of any church or organization, which is against celebrating Christmas. It is my personal position after observing for thirty plus years, the day "or months" of planing and celebration of Christmas. I was twenty-four years old when I first accepted Christ. Before that I was an atheist.
