My mother and aunty are organising and paying for our wedding. They are both very practical people and not very 'flowery', so can anyone suggest decent gifts for them please. Or should we just get flowers for an easy life? They won't complain, they just won't appreciate so much...Hi.. should have explained, when I said practical, I meant that they don't wear jewellry, go to spas... They might like a new saucepan or something... but that's not really appropriate!

you can get many practical gifts engraved. They have pretty jewelry boxes, picture frames, compact mirrors, etc. You can get a handkerchief embroidered with a little message and they can use it if they cry during your ceremony. we are getting real orchids preserved and laquered so they will always stay beautiful. You can also find lovely stationary sets with engraved pens, a nice wedding album for both mothers after the ceremony would be great. Another great option for people who prefer the practical is a day at the spa gift certificate. Try to think of thier interests and Im sure you can find a great gift that they would love and be able to use. Also, jewelry is always a nice thought.

Hmmmm, for a mother and an aunt that might be more difficult. I was going to get my mother one of those photo albums that say My Daughter's Wedding on the front and make that up for her. Then I was also going to include a gift certificate for a massage, but I guess that doesn't help much for your situation. How about tickets to something? A play or symphony? Anything really that you might give as a birthday or christmas present - just include a nice note of thanks.

How about a spa package for them both with a lunch or early dinner attached. (My cousins, sister & I did this for Mother's day and each of them loved it to tears.)If you know of their favourite movie or show, create a gift basket with them included with perfumes, shower gels and a personal letter; which the letter would mean more than any else.A thank you poem written & then said at the wedding. Then afterwards have it framed and given to them.Hope that helps as a start.

We're going to get our parents a really nice silver photo album and really nice 8 x 10 picture frame, and get them both engraved to say we love you or something like that.

My parents paid for our wedding. I had an entry way bench made for them. They absolutely loved it. Maybe there's something practical they need for the house. That's my suggestion.Good luck!

A classical-looking painting or portrait handmade from one of your most memorable photos is a good piece to give them on such an occasion, don’t you think? You can select a suitable photo and then send it to http://www.paintyourlife.com and they will create a wonderful portrait out of it – on oil, pencil, charcoal or on canvas. Try it out! It doesn’t cost much. The same company also has a studio for oil paintings reproductions. If you are looking for an affordable gift urgently, you can take a look at their 'stock on sale'. Visit http://www.oil-paintings-reproductions.com

special art picture is always nice. There is a web site – http://www.photoartomation.com/ArtWork/pages/14_Colored_Pencil.htm , they convert a digital photos into paintings of different art styles and print them on canvas. My friend sent them a picture and they turned it into beautiful piece of art. I saw it and it really looks good.
