So, my husband has been taking amazing care of me during my high risk pregnancy, and I've made it to 6 months. I'd like to get him a gift that I'll present to him at the birth of our son. As my son will have the same initials as his father I'd like to get him something with his initials, that will last so it can be passed down to our son some day. Also, please note that my husband doesn't wear jewelry, and he's not a pocket watch kind of guy. I've mentioned getting him a pocket knife before but he said he wouldn't really use one. TIA

How about a key chain or a money clip? Either can be engraved.A savings bond or naming a star after them are some other options.Congrats on making it this far and having an awesome husband supporting you!Surprised)

He needs to get YOU the gift. You put your life on the line to have this baby. You owe him nothing more.

How about a new wallet that has a place to put pictures, or maybe a picture frame that is engraved.

I've never heard of anything like that. His gift should be knowing that you made it through and that the baby is alright. You probably have more than enough expenses as it is.

I had to laugh when I saw your post. Let me explain. My husband has been a jerk for the most part. I am taking care of myself. You sound lucky! Now, you could get him a really sweet card that tells him what he means to you. Maybe some nice smelling cologne like Eternity for men. Maybe you could make him a nice photo album using shutterfly online and write thoughts under pictures. I would wait until the baby is born so you could include him.

Well...first off congrats! I'd get him a little something that says "daddy" on it... and then maybe a picture frame that you could have engraved saying something like "Daddy & Me" with their initals in it at some point. He sounds alot like my husband...Best Wishes for a healthy happy baby!

What a wonderful idea- your gonna have a great life!! I like the picture frame idea-cool but not to expensive but you'll have it always! If you want to.. look into reading "Love Languages" or maybe it's called the "Five Love Languages" I'm guessing yours is giving gifts and your husbands is acts of service. Helps you speak to your mate in the way they speak love to you too. Check it out!

It's not really engravable but father and son baseball mitts would be really cute.

My husband was really great for me too! I gave him our daughter and son's footprints in a matted frame, he loves it, he's not a jewelry person either so keepsake gifts can be hard, you might also think of a photo album of the two of you especially of the last year, this will give your son something to look at years down the road and your husband something to reflect back on the time when it was just the two of you. Sites like Kodak and Snapfish make great bound books.

How about an engraved photo album? Start with a picture of the two of you when you were dating, then a couple from the wedding, a few from your early years before the pregnancy, etc. Then start taking pictures now... him coming through the door with your breakfast in bed in his hands. You and him together with your tummy showing... then you can add the baby's very first picture to it before you give it to him. Add more as the baby grows and it can be presented to him on his wedding day, or when his first baby is born, with room to add more pictures the same way!
