I filled up a laundry basket with various cleaning and laundry supplies. I made it look like a "gift basket" by tying a pretty bow onto the basket.

It depends on how much you want to spend, of course, but you want to make sure that it's something that people will actually USE, and will remember you for. For instance, one of the best gifts I've ever gotten, has been a large bag of L.L. Bean "fatwood" pieces, used to help start a fire. Every time I've started a fire, for the past 3 years, I've thought of the friends who gave them to me, and it makes me smile. Will a candle or a bottle of wine do that for you? In my opinion, no.Another example is the goofy "ove glove", a heat-resistant glove that is used to take things out of the oven. It costs MAYBE $10, but I use it and appreciate it at least 3 times a week.If you're wanting to jump to the top of the line, you just can't beat a DeWalt rechargeable drill. It will absolutely be the most used tool in their inventory. Finally, a gift card to Home Depot or Lowe's will give them the flexibility to get what they want when they want it.Keep in mind, none of these things are fancy or pretty. I promise you, tho, that in the long run, they'll be far more appreciated than any foo-foo gift you could get.Best of luck!

Candles. You can never go wrong with candles. Get a few really nice scented candles. Oh yeah, and a REALLY nice wine to go with the candles. Put them in a basket. Get some flowers. Put that in the basket too. Wa-la! Perfecto!

I think a nice basket of goodies is nice: a bottle of wine, some stationery printed with the persons name and new address, maybe some nice candles, picture frames, or nice towels.

Even though it usually makes people laugh, I like to give a fire extinguisher. It's something every home needs, and a lot of people don't have. You can hand it over with a little joke about wanting the house to be warm, but not TOO warm. :-)RoomLoverhttp://roomlover.blogspot.com
