| I thought flowers and wine but she'll be leaving a week later for Mexico. Do you think a week would be long enough to enjoy the flowers or should I get her something else? |

| The flowers would be nice. Its the gesture that counts. If you are still worried get her the wine and maybe some fancy chocolates. |

| If she's going to Mexico, get her a little wicker/rattan bag and put some sunblock, a beach towel, and a beauty magazine in it, or something else you think would be of use to her on her trip. I hostessed 2 baby showers and never received a gift from the recipient, so I think anything thoughtful is a great gesture! |

| Gifts for the home, like a vase, wine glasses, etc are usually a safe bet. |

| Wine and music/book/perfume, depending on what she's into. A nice picture frame or candle is sweet. |

| A great gift would be something all girls like, candles. She can use them when she returns home. Or you can get her something to take with her to Mexico. Make a basket full of lotions, body wash, luffas, etc. like a homeade spa kit. Or you can purchase a collection of fragrances and lotions from Bath and Body Works or Victoria's Secret. VS usually has a 6 for $35 sale. Who does not like that? http://www.victoriassecret.com If you wanted to you could call the hotel she is staying at in Mexico and have flowers and wine delivered to her room upon arrival with a note from you. She will be more than suprised. But check the prices because this could be expensive. |

| A framed picture of the baby, when it's born, would be nice. You could include some flowers as well. |
