|
|
| My friend is having a baby shower. I want to get her something that no one else will have thought of so she doesn't have everyone buying her similar stuff. I would love to get her a unique but very practical/useful gift. Any ideas from mums out there on something you found very useful but wouldn't have thought of?????? |

| I'm not sure of your budget, you could get her a nice engraved sterling silver baby rattle, or some kind of keepsake gift that she will keep forever.I bought my sister a silver Man in the Moon rattle when she had my niece, and while the diapers have been used up, the clothes are long since outgrown, and she has long since stopped using the baby swings and bouncers, she still has the rattle in my niece's room. |

| how about you start a college saving account. it only cost $25 to start and the parents can add to it monthly or whenever they want. |

| I'd get a baby boppy. It comes in handy for the mother to place her baby down and to have a rest. |

| I'm always a fan of books as children's gifts and baby shower gifts. Choose some books that were your favourites as a kid. That way it's personal and educational. The baby will continue to enjoy the books much longer than any other "baby" toys. Plus, books aren't terribly expensive so you can probably afford to get a few. |

| I got some baby laundry detergent, and also Tide- to -go to keep in the diaper bag. That was something I never would have thought of and certainly have used. |

| My favorite thing i got was a little thing you can mold the babies handprint and footprint it, it was really sweet. Also every mother needs DIAPERS DIAPERS , so i would do both of them together. |

| I like to make up "goodie" baskets. Find a little wagon or a cute basket that can be reused in the nursery. I always fill it with little things that most people don't buy like a thermometer, nail clippers, Motrin, baby proofing items (outlet plugs, etc),pacifiers, etc. You can use the clear wrapping paper and tie the basket up with pink or blue ribbon. |

| Make one of those "Tie Blankets". They are really easy to make, super soft and the baby will get a lot of use out of it. There are a lot of cute material for babies. You could even get her something else, but wrap it in the blanket. My cousin made one for her baby, but she bought enough material to make 2. This is her daughters blankie and since she has an extra, her daughter always has one (like if one is in the wash or forgotten somewhere). |

At my shower, a friend put together an adorable mini suitcase full of mommy/daddy and baby essentials to bring to the hospital. It consisted of all kinds of travel items.. a writing pad, a sudoku book, hand sanitizer, a head band for your sweat (this was my most prized item in the bag) two mini tooth brushes, etc. and for the baby, socks & shoes, a beanie hat and some other travel size baby essentials. It was the most adorable and unique gift I received. Keep it by your door and when you go to the hospital, you are all set. I also just used it when we took a weekend trip. It came in handy. Best Wishes. |

| I gave my friend a travel pack of huggies wipes (the hard plastic, reuseable sort) and a formula divider (container divided into three sections to put measured serves of formula for outings). The formula divider is only of use if your friend is planning to bottle feed!Along with those, I like to give something pampering for her to use after the baby is born (eg voucher for massage, manicure, pedicure or facial). |

| My favorite gift was a "rocking horse" of course they can't use it right away but it looks great in a nursey. A nice one not a cheap one. Personalized baby photo albums. The most useful was "privacy shawl for nursing".Mother of three. |
