some friends and I are about to be treated to an entire day at a luxury spa (a nursing school graduation gift). While looking over the "extras" that the spa offers, I noticed that they also do bikini and brazilian waxes. I've always been a shaver myself, but have recently gotten soooo tired of the whole routine but don't want to let myself go "au naturel". Any suggestions from you women out there who get waxed? Is the pain/discomfort worth the freedom from the razor? I need some opinions! Thanks!!! Smile

Waxing although the pain sucks it does give you more time between waxes as compared to shaving. And it stays smoother longer with shaving it will feel more stubbly when the hair comes back in.

well the more you wax, they less painful it is. So if you haven't waxed in a while, then it might be a bit painful, but it's soooo worth it, more smooth and more confort Smile

I shaved for about 8 years and started waxing about 18 months ago.At first, i found that it was painful, the roots of the hair were stronger because i'd been shaving for so long and it would grow back within 2-3 weeks and need to be done again. But now, 18months later, it doesn't hurt nearly as much, the hair is growing back finer and comes out more easily, plus it's much longer between treatments which is great! If you're going to get it done, be prepared for it to hurt the first few times, but in the long run, I think that waxing is better.

have it waxed. shaving will remove the hair for a while but it will grow back thicker, but if u have it waxed you'll be able to keep your shaver for a long time... and when it grows back again it's finer...

It is easier to get a smoother look from waxing, but in my opinion, it isn't worth it because it doesn't really last that long. Of course, it lasts longer than shaving, but it still doesn't last that long. It could be fun to do it while you're at a spa to try it out -- it's a good opportunity to explore it. After that, though, it seems like it would be worthwhile to go somewhere where you can enjoy the look (i.e. swimming or to a hot-tub). Otherwise, what's the point? Smile My personal opinion is that I don't want to spend the money and effort to get waxed regularly, but for a special occasion, I would. It's up to you, though. Give it a try if you're interested -- it's not like you have to choose between waxing and shaving permanently. You can switch back and forth.
