I am acquainted with a couple who will celebrate both of their Bdays over drinks out. While I have only met this couple once before, we hit if off. Likewise, I am honored to be invited to celebrate. Am I even obligated to bring a gift or can I just buy a round of drinks? If not, can I get them one gift such as a bottle of wine or do I need to get a gift for each??

I think that buying them one bottle of wine as a gift for both of them is a great gift idea.If your not to sure what they like, you could buy them a card and stick a gift card in it for the both of them.

I think it would be appropriate to bring a small gift that the two of them can enjoy. For example the bottle of wine was a good idea or you could do a gift certificate to their favorite restaurant of for a movie. Just something common that most people would enjoy receiving.A combined gift is fine because they are celebrating their birthdays together and they are a couple. You do not have to spend a fortune, it is just a little something would be a nice touch rather than just buying a round of drinks.
