Maybe a gift certificate to a store that sells music supplies. If it's a lot maybe he can buy a new instrument or something. If it's a little he can at least buy some cds or sheet music or something.

IS there a local music venue around where you are so you can buy him a gift certificate to see any upcoming shows?? Or maybe to save you guys some money, if you know what kind of music he listens to away from school, how about burning him A MP3 disk full of songs that he might enjoy in the car or at home??

I like the idea of a picture of the class, but put it in a great frame, maybe one where you can record yourselves singing the song on it. Everyone has to sign the back, behind their picture. The song choice was very clever, by the way.

I'm a huge fan of the personalized gift basket, simply because everyone loves good food, and because the recipient will experience warm and loving feelings with each and every bite...and he can share it with friends or loved ones! For this man, I'd design a basket with...a CD collection of beautiful classical pieces, a bottle of good wine, cheeses, crackers, different kinds of European meats, grapes, fine European pastries, a few floral pieces for design, and two tickets to the symphony orchestra for him and his wife or girlfriend.Think big, think classy, and think tasteful colors and arrangement... |

some pen or a jug that has either a musical intrument on it.. or a pen inscribed with those words.. ''Thank you for the music'' and ''your class xxx 2008.... something to do with music.. a mug a cup anything he can use and if possible have that inscription'' Thank you for the music'' something with a violin on it... even a poster with a violin or a piano.. whatever he taught.. and then just write on the poster ''thank you for the music. and '' your class ... of 2008 and sign each of you on the poster..xxx it could also be a poster of his personal favourite musician.Another idea might be get him a Tshirt.. size L unless he is fat..and on it it has a musical instrument and says ''I love music'' or get him a mouse pad with some musical instruments on it because I am sure the prof has a computer, or create a self made card for him with a lot of collaboration between all of you working as a team.. you make a card and you add a musical 3 dimensional instrument.. in the middle of the card and on the day he sees you all for the last time if you can sing.. (your class) or if you can play on a musical instrument the Abba song '' Thank you for the music'' that also would be a personal and good way of showing appreciation for what he did.. and if you can't sing play the Abba song... ''thank you for the music on a Cd in class and let him keep it''http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WauFkb4jmCIThe lyrics to it.. just don't think of yourselves as bit of a bore but the rest of the song is cool for a music teacher..http://www.azlyrics.com/lyrics/abba/thankyouforthemusic.htmlthat is Abba the song.. thank you for the music xx
