| Any etiquette book says you have that much time regardless of wether you attend or not. |

| Just give a wedding gift when or if you can. Don't worry about what you are supposed to give or when you are supposed to give it. |

| That's what I was told, cause when I went to register at bed bath and beyond, they told me the registry stays active for a year because people are allowed to buy after wards....So apparently it's true. Hey, maybe you get like random gifts like 5 months later, what a jolly surprise that would be, lol. |

| it is true. all the wedding etiquette books say guests have up to 1 year after the wedding to give a gift. and it's not only if you don't go to the wedding. even if you go, you don't have to give a gift that night, you can wait. i think it's really weird personally, but supposedly it is 'proper etiquette' . |
