I am doing some research for expanding my business globally into Australia. I would really appreciate it if a resident from Australia would take the time to answer a few questions I have below. Thanks,CharlieHow do people reac to strangers? Are they hostile? Friendly? How do people greet each other? What are the appropriate manners when you enter a room? How are names used for introductions? Is it appropriate to inquire about ones occupation or family? What are the attitudes towards touching? Hugs, pat on the back etc.How does one express appreciation for an invitation to anothers home? Bring a gift? Send Flowers? Write a thank you letter? Are any gifts taboo? Are there any customs related to how or where one sits? Are any facial expressions or gestures considered rude? How close do people stand when talking? What is the attitude toward punctuality in social situations? In business situations? What are acceptable eye contact patterns?

Grab a Foster's mate. Really, my blood family is Australian, (that would be WA) I've never been but wife has gone in my place. From the film and pix she brought back I'm surprised no one has told you. Fun people, fun times! Take your own personality it will blend nicely with Aussies. Try to fake it and you'll be sorry! And, put another shrimp on the Barbie!
