Okay, for my wedding Im donig a country theme. They are long 8ft banquet tables, im going to do ivory table linens, with a tan burlap runner. At each place setting I'll have a bright yellow napkin floded with their gift on each one. I'll have wine glasses and each table as well. On the runner I'll have 2 buckets of flowers. Not just shoved in there but nice and orgainezed. Sunflowers, snaps, all that good stuff. Then im thinking about buying these laternshttp://davidsbridal.com/gifts_detail.jsp?sfc=125&pid=1564the white ones and placing them in between the buckets so i'll have 3 at each table. is that enough or should i put some more candles, or like sprinkle some yellow rose petals, my main color is yellow, accented with browns and tans. Im just trying to imagine it and it seems so bland. please tell me any ideas! Thankyou!!! oh ya my flowers are sunflowers.

I think the mini lanterns will look adorable. You might price shop for them. This time of the year I have noticed them in a lot of the stores, Dollar Stores for great prices. I think with the flower buckets, the mini lanterns table runner and wine glasses you might put a few of the yellow rose petals around the lanterns. If you use the white lanterns you might give them just a little bit of color, not to much. Sometimes simple is more elegant. If you can place a couple of the items onto a table and then step back and look at the effect. You could always use the mirrors under the lanterns for reflection and a few of the rose petals onto the mirror. Try the dollar tree link below for maybe some helpful ideas and great prices. Best Wishes

i say add some colorful gerber daisies to brighten it up. with all those neutrals in there, it might get too bland as you said. add some pink or maybe red! if anything, just make sure there is enough yellow so that it stands out as your main color. i love your lantern idea with the buckets of flowers! so cute! should you add more candles or sprinkle rose petals..it all depends what it all looks like when you start setting it up. i think you might want to skip the candles but add just a few rose petals!

I don't think it will look too bland at all - mostly because you've chosen a flower that is bright and summer and then, quite smartly, accented your table with a bright yellow napkin. I like the lanterns, but might suggest that, perhaps, you try for something in glass so that it doesn't contrast with the metal on your pails. For example, perhaps the kerr jelly glasses or other glasses of that style and then place a votive in them - I think that would really achieve the look you are going for while, at the same time, being really cost effective.I would advise staying away from sprinkling rose petals - I think with the bright flowers and napkins and then a liberal dose of candles, your table will look very fresh and virbrant and doesn't need the petals. I've attached some links to photos of weddings I've done, while a bit more colorful, still in a similar "country" feel to give you somewhat of an idea. Best of luck!
