|
|
I'm finishing 6th form college (UK) on Friday.I'd like to buy a small gift for a good female friend. Nothing more than a few £.Something sweet and meaningful. Nothing cheap or tacky. Nothing that would suggest to her that I like her (ok I do a little she's a good looking girl but I won't allow any real feelings to develop as happened with another female friend).Any suggestions for a gift?I thought maybe a flower (or flowers?) such as a yellow rose?Any other ideas? .Reasons I won't let feelings develop:She's in a relationship (albeit one that I can't see lasting)I don't want to allow myself to fall for a close friend a second time.

A book by her favorite author? Or a gift card to a bath & body shop or candy shop?

Not the rose if she has a boyfriend. A nice bouquet of spring flowers would be better. Like some lillies or an orchid plant. They don't have that romantic feeling about them.

whatever you do; just don't give her lingerie. This is very offending to most women cos they wonder is this for me or is this for YOU?How about a nice mohagany picture frame with her picture on it or if u have a picture of you two together-then that? Those frames cost about 25 dollars to 35 dollars.i'm glad I read the rest of it at the end. Now I realize that you had no intention of buying her lingerie. sorry I insulted you, my friend.

Why not do this: When you and her are around each other again, and the moment is opportune, just buy her a gift on the spot. Just say to her, I'd love to buy that for you! Then it would show a sign of no pre-meditation. And it wouldn't make her wonder why you bought it, because she would be right there in front of you when you did it. It might just be a piece of chocolate, or something she picked up in a shop and asked you if you liked it, because she thought it was cute.

A really nice journal and pen. If you look in WH Smith they have some lovely affordable ones with material covers and beading on. Pretty, but practical.

A nice bookmark with an inscription on it, nothing soppy just rememberence of her time at college, date and who it is from. Lot of places engrave while you wait. A flower is a nice idea but not a keepsake. Even a book by an author she likes or a subject she knows and you can write something nice inside, again with date and signed by yourself.

NO FLOWERS. That means you're interested!Try something practical. Maybe a sketchbook and pencils, or a diary, kind of depends on what kind of girl she is. A cd is always good.
