| My husband and I have been invited to a luau by a daughter of an aquaintence. I thought the invite was a little unusal because we are not that close, particularly with this young lady (who may be all of 19 years old). When I flipped the invite over, I discovered the line, "Please join us for our housewarming!" Does this mean she is expecting a gift? If so, what do I bring? |

| I don't think a gift is required, but I'd bring them a small bamboo plant. It's a traditional housewarming gift, and would go great with the luau theme. As a bonus, they're relatively cheap. Hope you have a great time - |

| most likely yes....the most common ideas are those small things that make a house a home...kettle, toaster, indoor plants, tables, chairs, stereo, tv etc... |

| something which I just considered was baking a cake or pie and taking it along with you.you could get a $20 gift card for target, write out a "welcome to your new home" card and slip the gift card in.the likelihood is that your acquaintance sat down with the daughter making an invite list and suggested - why not invite xxx and her husband? they are real nice people. |
