| hi, i want to start a collection of someting. when i was little, my parents brought us to other countries alot, but becasue i was so young, i never really thought of starting a unique collection of anything special from countries i've visited. we only have loads of photos. i've got 2 handmade teddy bears( one from US and one from Australia) both were gifts from someone.. other wise i've got notihng special. can anyone suggest anytinhg? i like angels...but i'm tihnking, u cant really get unique angel-y stuff from every country i plan to go to from now. i dont drink, so shot glases are out. someone i know sugested jewellery, but thats ok if i'm gg to countires in africa and asia, where they've got really distinct jewellery designs. i'm looking to collect sometihng small, yet girly, and maybe someting that i can put on display somewhere... anyone with any ideas? i've been thinking and thinking and cannot for the life of me come up with anytinhg good. |

| Choose gem collecting. It is really easy and when you travel places market stalls, shops and beaches will have them. They can come from any where and can be displayed all over the house or you can keep them in compartments or in a case. I myself have a case with compartments and they are arranged by colour. But they are preetty, girly and you can show off all the cool colours, textures and shapes to people. |

| I think a scrapbook - or portfolio of photos of different countries you visited - add postcards.To make this unique - I think if you take a really close up of for instance: a statue's foot - or hand or eye, then have the photo blown up - and add the post card or regular full size view. Kind of artsy. A petal of a plant - really close then the whole plant - cornerstone of a building - then the whole view - a piece of fabric - just the corner - then the whole blanket/dress etc. get the idea - Some day you could use them as wall art in your own home. You will have a nice photo collection with postcards and your own photos, plus - a really clever collection of art work. Practice at home first - see what you come up with - you'll develop an eye for it - and it will be all yours. |
