My daughter got the Boon potty bench for a christmas gift from her MiMi, and I have been trying to sit her on it to just play and get used to the idea. Not like sitting her on it no diaper or anything, but just sitting on it. I was looking for a smaller one for when she first starts since she's very petitte and the Boon opening is pretty large, like she'll totally fall in. But when I was reading the reviews a lot of people were saying about using it with their 4 month olds and stuff. I am all for getting rid of diapers ASAP, but can a baby actually get trained that young, like before a year? Also is this a good potty to start her on now? I know I was trained by 1 1/2 becuase my mom and dad used to just sit me on it starting around 10-11 months. So that was what I plan to do. I just need a smaller seat until she is big enough for the Boon one. Also if you have it, is the Boon a good model? Should I have started her at 4 months? I feel soo behind now.I dont believe that it isnt possible to have a trained 1 1/2 year old because both me and my brother were. As well as my mom and her brother. My mom did the same with us that my grandmom did for them. If you start getting a baby 10-11 months to sit on the potty and when they go make a huge deal of it and do this 1-2 times a day to start and then increase it over the weeks and months, they can be 100% potty trained by 1 1/2. They still might have night time accidents. People think you cant potty train before 2 because they are too lazy to do what it takes to get their child potty trained. Now because of all the laziness most people dont even think about trying to train a 10-11 month old because they believe it isnt possible.

I think now is a good time if she understands what she is doing and what the potty is for.

I use the baby Bjorn potty and have had her peeing in it since she was 5 months old. Every time she wakes up, I take her to her potty right away and away she goes. You will need to make a SHHH sound or even sit on the toilet yourself and make a tinkle, she will soon the idea. Your not behind, just take your time, don't force the situation and soon it will be fun.

10 months is extremely early. Typically most start to grasp things around the age of 2 or 2 1/2. That doesn't mean she won't pee on the seat- but there is a big difference between peeing on the potty seat and being potty trained. You can take her as often as you want and get her to go on the seat, but you can't force the understanding of what it feels like when she needs to go and being able to determine that and go on her own. No matter how much time you spend she isn't going to be potty trained until she has that understanding. People that have their 4 month olds on a potty seat don't understand anything about a baby's development.
