My BF said he would get me a ring. When it came time to do so, he yelled and cussed at me. Then left. ???

| 2 yrs ago BF said he'd get me a friendship ring. X-Mas '07, no ring. For Valentine's Day he said he'd get me the ring, but didn't. For MY birthday recently, he took me where HE wanted to go. Saturday I asked about getting a $25 -$50 claddagh ring. He said ok. Sunday, he threw a fit, cussed me out for "pressuring" him into buying a ring when we are just dating and not serious. (BTW he says he's in love with me.) Then on the way out to eat, he turned around and took me home, and left with no goodbye. In 2 1/2 yrs, he has spent $400 on gifts for me. He makes WAY more than I do. His bills are 1/4 of his income. He doesn't blink at throwing down 1K at a casino, though! I pay my own bills. I have been there for him. The ring isn't important. But his keeping his word is. I am afraid to call him or see him now. What do I do? Forget about the ring and his behaviour today? Or apologize and say I don't want a ring? Do I talk to him about it later or pretend nothing happened? He can be verbally abusive when things don't go his way. I am very forgiving toward him. At times I am a doormat.Remember, this is a $25 to $50 ring. But he thinks that if he buys me it, that I will want more and more jewelry. Here is a list of all the gifts I have received from him: X-mas '06=$20 perfume, 2007:Valentine's Day = necklace, birthday= earrings, X-Mas= $60 perfume and lotion , 2008: Valentine's Day=dinner, birthday= dinner, movie ice cream. I am not a gold digger. Never have been. |
