| My stepdaughter who lives far away is getting married, and her father and I divorced a couple years ago. I will not be attending the wedding because I want to avoid causing her any tension on her special day. I want to send her a card/gift, but I am at a loss of how to word my message to her. |

| She is old enough to understand the situation so you dont have to bring anything of that nature up..She just wants to know that she is still special and thought of by her past stepmother. As Im sure still thinks of you and even talks about you. Just tell her that she has grown up to be a beautiful women, you are proud that she found the one for her, hope she has the best day ever, and enjoy her honeymoon, and that you will be thinking of her and best wishes to the happy couple! | Just say something along the lines of "congratulations on your marriage, many happy years together" blah blah. Are you happy for her? Just express how you feel. |
