In Canada (New Brunswick), is it illegal for gift certificates to expire?

I am being issued a gift certificate with an expiration date. I am sure I heard somewhere that it is illegal to not honour gift certificates that have expired or to place an expiration date on a gift certificate. I am not sure if this is for all of Canada or for certain provinces only. I don't know. Back to top
