a couple weeks back, someone said if you use vodka on the carpet, it gets smells out. it was a question for a teenie bopper who was partying when not supposed to. i need to get cat urine smells out of my son's room. Also, my son likes to take his diaper off and then i think he pees too in his room. I know, it's time to start the process for potty training. WE are , and hopefully the cat will stop going to the bathroom in there. Hopefully, the vodka person will read this and can help. Anyone, PLEASE. I AM ABOUT TO GET RID OF THE CAT.I don't want to because the kids love the cat (9 weeks old) and my husband gave me her as a mother's day gift. thank you everyone.we are also going to get a lot of frebreeze today but i want something long term. and urine B gone alsocalling pros is too expensive. if i am going to do that I'll just go get a Rug Doctor and do the whole house.

Vodka sounds like an awfully expensive way of trying to treat a carpet. It might dissolve some of the odor-causing substances, then you could blot it up, but it wouldn't be tremendously effective.Baking soda would probably be better.Even better, there's a cleaner on the market called "Anti-Icky Poo" (yes, it's really called that). It has enzymes in it that neutralize urine stains and odors. This is probably your best bet.

take it from me... cat urine smells do NOT come out.. in fact they are known to make people sick. you have a female cat who will actually start spraying her urine when she is in heat, and the smells that emmit from the urine are very unhealthy for your son to be breathing ... since its in your sons room i would suggest that you get rid of the cat and save your family and ecspecially your childrens health... its very unhealthy!!!!!!!

Just call a professional out to clean the room.Confine your kitten to a cage containing food and water and a litter box until she gets the idea.

the cat needs to be spayed if not already as this will stop it urinating everywhere. also litter training may not be complete so limit it to one room with a litter tray to teach it what to do. maybe one with a washable floor. put another cat litter tray near your sons room to use. persevere as the cat will learn, it just takes a little time.we kept all the bedroom doors shut to prevent ours getting in as much as possible and sprayed any accidents with white vinegar after cleaning them up straight after as it gets the smell out and puts them off doing it there again.i hope this helps and understand how frustrating it is but litter training a cat is like potty training a child, theres gonna be a few more accidents yet, but thats normal.

Seriously though, here's what did work. I rented a steam cleaner for $20 and pumped a bunch of water through the carpet... cold water would have been better. Then I purchased a bottle of Nature's Miracle for about $8 and a spray bottle and covered the damp carpet with a good spraying of the enzyme... I also took a black light and located a few "spots" that looked like they might have been caused by kitten pee... these got a heavy soaking with the Nature's Miracle. The fine print on the Nature's Miracle and noted it said the enzyme might take a couple weeks to totally dry inside the carpet, so I thought I'd give it a chance to really do its thing (which I understand is eating away the bacteria that causes the odors)...
