|
|
| The mother-to-be is my FH's best friend's girlfriend (confused yet?). I see her when we all hang out as a group, but she and I don't really spend time together without the guys, and aren't really that close. Should I ask my FH to split the cost of the gift with me? No?How much should I spend?Info: she has pretty much everything she NEEDS - big stuff, anyway. I am not concerned with my own budget, I am just trying to be appropriate. |

| I usually spend about $75 and people tell me I go overboard. So maybe $50. |

| Do not overspend - close family should buy her the large items.I would spend no more than $30. But that is just me. Try to get an assortment of smaller, useful items that people would not usually think of getting. Nail clippers, syringe, thermometor, diaper rash ointment, infant tylenol, medical supplies and things like that. Find a nice basket and there you go....Or...You might even just want to get a tub and fill it with a towel, lotions, washes and a duckie....Just some ideas... |

| If she has everything she needs like the crib, stroller, and such, I'd personally just make her a 'gift basket' :] We did this with my God Father's girlfriend when she was pregnant. We went to Babies R us, we found a cute diaper bag, ours had snoopy on it, and he was a baby. lol.Anyways, we bought clothes, diapers, since babies go through diapers like madbottlessippy cups and toddler appropriate dishes for when the baby was older. We bought a stuffed animal or two.We bought a blanket, because one can never have to many Teething toys, for when she reaches that stage, normal toys.BibsAnad a few other things, and then we put it all in the diaper bag with a card and a bow. :] It didn't cost that much, I'd ball park $50-75 or so. The diaper bag was inexpensive. |

| Honestly, if she is not a close friend or relative, I would not put too much money into a baby shower gift for her. You can find a lot of cool things to buy for 20 dollars or less at Wal-Mart, Target, K-Mart,etc. |

| I usually spend more on baby gifts just because I love babies and all the baby stuff, its just too cute not to buy!I don't think you should ask your FH to split a gift unless its a co-ed baby shower or something that he is attending. If it were me I would spend like $40-$50, maybe more if I found cute stuff in the store. |
