Absolutely...or a gift card to where they registered. The great thing about cash is the couple can take it and use it towards their honeymoon or use it to purchase a gift they need that they didn't get. Its versatile and highly appreciated!

If you're bringing a date I would give $100.00 Rule is you should be paying for your plate so it depends on how fancy the wedding is.Give what you can afford!

Absolutely, and it is very much appreciated by the bride and groom. 9 times out of 10, they really need the cash to help recover after the costs of the wedding.

Absolutely! Why not?! That's a very common gift :)If you aren't satisfied with giving cash, check out their registry. You really CANT go wrong.

toally! im getting married may of next year and i think i would prefer cash. then it helps to pay for things that you need. another great gift would be a gift card to a grocery store. everyone needs to buy groceries and you pick one up the next time you are at the store. congrats to your friend! : ]

Cash is great, but $50.00? How close are you to the couple? I would give a minimum of at least $100.00 (if I were on a budegt, no matter how well I kow the couple.) When you give cash, you usually want it to at least cover the cost of your wedding meal. $50.00 is a a bit on the cheap side. Just my opinion. :)Oh yeah, and of course get a card. Smile

Yes, and sure, if $50 is what you can afford, then it is fine.

Yes, cash is a fine gift - provided it wasn't asked for in the invitation. And $50 is a good amount considering you haven't seen her in a long while.Oh, and that stupid idea of "cover the cost of your plate..." that some people chauvanistically adhere to? Bunk. Baloney. Hooey. Horse-pucky. Rubbish.Ignore it - always.

I got Checks for wedding gifts. I actually appreciated them because we used them for our honeymoon, and weddings are expensive. We paid for our own. I don't know if I would give them actually cash. You can always go to any bank and buy one of those preloaded visa card, you select the amount. Then they can use it anywhere. Another idea would be to buy them a gift card to the place they have registered. I think $50 is a nice amount, although if you don't know the person that well anymore $25 is a good amount also. Have fun at their wedding. The best gift you can give someone is your support!
