|
|
My husband is about to graduate, and be commissioned as an officer (Pilot for the Navy). The ceremony is on July 18, and I have no idea what to get him. I don't mind spending money on something nice, but nothing too over the top. He also just turned 25 last week. I've asked before, but still haven't found the right gift any ideas???Yup he just bought over $1200 worth of uniforms by requirement of the Navy.Great idea, maybe next time.He is previous enlisted for almost 7years prior submarine service.

uhh It's hard to give a guy a present! Sometimes I have hard times finding a good gift to my BF when it's his B-day! I know whats a good graduation present a bamboo. Make sure is not any bamboo. Probably a bamboo with good decoration. Giving a bamboo as a gift is based of good luck. Or you can give a gift card of his favorite store.....good luck!

Buy him the model of his plane. The one he trained in and then you can keep adding to the collection. I found mine at the local community airport. You can go online or google it.My sweetie flew the Black Bird for the AF and I got him one, it is on a nice stand and it's in his office, he loves it!

how about a gift cert for a massage. especially after the training he just went through. or if you want something material something he would use everday, and could take with him when deployed like a watch or engraved pen or nice wallet

Congratulations! I'd get him a Rolex Submariner wristwatch. It is not cheap but he will have it for his entire career. Is that over the top? It's about $5,000.I'm just thinking of something as striking and awarding as the commission. This is no small time deal, this is big!

Buy him a sword. That's what I gave my son when he was commissioned.

Well i don't know how long he's been in but you could get him something similar to that of the Marines, one of the display cases that he can display in the living room that has all his ribbons, his medals, his name and rank and an American Flag, probably even a sword as well since he is getting commissioned, something similar to this.http://www.topnotch-woodworks.com/photo_album/albums/userpics/10001/thumb_USMC_Hawaii.jpeg

I like the sword idea, the model of his plane and also the display boxes for his medals, awards, etc...but the first thing that came to mind was gold wings. Since those wings of gold are so envious and cool I would get a pair of gold wings designed with something meaningful or inspirational.

Besides the sword and the shadow box (box with medals and stuff), how about some wing cufflinks?

I will suggest two things. First, a silver peace dollar. This will remind him of what he is striving to help maintain. They can be purchased at almost any coin store, they were minted from 1921-28 and again from 1934-35.The second thing I would get him, are TWO current Silver Eagle US dollar coins. One for the year that he was commissioned. The second, to present to the first enlisted person who renders a salute to him in uniform (this is an old tradition)
