I have my boyfriends sister-in-laws baby shower to go to. She has not exactly been the nicest person to me over the years. But I am going to the baby shower to keep the peace in the family and to keep my boyfriend happy. I am trying to be the bigger person here by going, but I would love to get a gift that would tick her off. Any ideas? By the way she does not like their family name for some reason... but I was going to try to incorporate the name into something. Any ideas??

Don't be immature about it. Remember, this is a gift for the baby, not her. She just gets the luxury of opening them, but really its more like a birthday present for the baby. Wait until a better time like her birthday or christmas to screw with her.

I think you should remeber that this is about the baby; that will make you the bigger person.

Try harder - the "bigger person" would treat someone else - even if they don't like them - like they would want to be treated in the same situation.Just get her something off her registry list - if she isn't registered anywhere just get her something nice that she can use that is within your budget.

You are contradicting yourself.... If you want to please your boyfriend, keep the peace in family, and be a "big person", then don't purposely get something that will irritate her. It is far better NOT to go than go and do something like this on purpose. If you don't care for the person, get something like a gift certificate. You don't have to think much, easy to wrap, and universal.

The fact that you're going to "keep the peace" and be the "bigger person" but you still want to tick her off by getting her a gift she doesn't like just screams catty and passive-aggressive and looks like you just want to seem like the bigger person, without actual being that. Just my $0.02.Anyway, to actually answer your question, noisy toys are good, but better for when the kid is older and can actually play with them. I suppose you can get an ugly outfit or frame or something. Maybe a picture of yourself for the baby's room. That would tick anybody off. Just don't get anything that will actually be dangerous or bad for the baby.

You'll never "keep the peace" if you get something that makes her mad. This is about the precious little baby she's about to have, not about your petty battles.

If you really want to tick her off really BE the bigger person and give her something really nice, you are only hurting yourself, not her with your bitterness.
