| I'm going to a Japanese-Canadian wedding. My friend is marrying a Japanese girl, I'm buying her the present, not him, he can rot in hell LOL! I want to know what is a traditional Japanese gift, and what is considered good luck in japan or what is considered good luck for marriages in Japan. I like giving high quality small gifts. 200$ range.I want it to be personal, gift cards are nice for acquaintances but this is my best friends, I want to show that I put the effort into choosing something, so I'm still looking for the idea of a gift. Afterwards I'll go shopping for the nicest gift that matches that idea. I want it to involve something that is a cultural symbol for good fortune or prosperity. |

| See if they filled out a registry. Those are the gifts they really want/need. Getting gifts off the registry is risky- they may already have it, not like it, it may not match their decor, etc. If they don't have a registry, cash or gift cards are always welcome. |

| I would find out where they are registered and go that route and of course a gift certificate or check is always nice! |
