| The best thing you can do when any family is grieving is offer to help them in any way they need. Cook meals for them, clean the house for them, mow the lawn, do laundry, take care of the pets or kids...anything you can do to make their life less stressful while they grieve. |

| Normally, one does not give a gift to a grieving family. However, it would be appropriate to offer the family the gift of your time. Take over some of the husband's chores, such as mowing the lawn, taking out the trash and fixing the plumbing. Teach the children how to throw a ball, or if age appropriate, to fix a car and use tools. As one who has been a single mom all her adult life, I can promise this will be appreciated. |
