|
|
I'm adding items to a gift registry and I don't know anything about baby bottles! Did you prefer the regular old plastic kind or the ones with the baggie-like inserts? Straight neck or angled? Any particular brand serve you better than others? I'll be breastfeeding and pumping, so my husband will be able to help feed, if that will make a difference as to which type of bottle. Thanks in advance!

Both my kids when they were finished breastfeeding used Gerber Clear View..the old style plastic bottles (which are BPA free) and the plain old nipples or Nuk nipples.

My boys would only take avent or playtex drop-ins the rest they just pushed away. I tried Dr Brown bottles and they hated them. They were getting breast-milk in them for awhile and i also breastfed my younger son too and they just didn't like something about any of the other bottles.

I used the Playtex Nursers with the Drop-In baggies. I loved them until she was old enough to hold it herself and let it drip everywhere (about 6 months). She never had any gas because you can squeeze the air out of the baggie before you give it to them. There are other brands that have breast pumps that attach to them... I had the Advent Isis breast pump with bottles. I really didn't like those bottles. They leaked a number of time.I didn't have this problem, but some babies are particular about the nipple they prefer. Some like a smaller nipple and others like the wider nipple. I recommend only having a couple different bottles for now. You will probably exclusively breastfeed until the baby (and you ) get used to it. Once breastfeeding is established, you can start pumping and finding the bottle that your baby likes the best.

I used the Playtex Vent-air with my twins and HATED THEM WITH A PASSION. After 1 month every bottle leaked. It was horrible. I would say either use the plastic Playtex bag drop ins (which are best to keep baby from getting gas) or Dr. Browns which is also good for no gas. DO NOT USE PLAYTEX VENT-AIRS.. I had 20 bottles and EVERY ONE leaked after a month!!!Congratulations and good luck!!! Being a mother is the most amazing experience EVER!

I love Avent. They have the regular and the drop-ins.They work great for my son.A lot of people say that they leak but if you tighten cap and make sure nipple is in right, they don'tI tried the Dr Browns but they leaked for me.I do not know if I overfilled them or what so I quit using them.I also tried the drop-ins but there weren't for me.A lot of people do prefer those though because of less clean-up.It will also depend on what your baby does better with.I do personally prefer avent & will recommend them to anyone.

We used Playtex Drop ins with the wide neck nipples for easier transition between breast and bottle. They are so easy to clean and BPA free.

I used "Avent" bottles for both my kids and they have worked really well. The size of them makes it easy to hold for both parent and child when they get to that stage. You can also buy handles that clip on for the babies to hold and thermo bottle bags that fit two in and keep the heat in for agers good for outtings

I used/use the Gerber-Nuk wide necked bottles with the Nuk Orthodontic teats. They are no longer available on the market though. I also have Playtex and Avent bottles with drop-ins and if I had to chose I'd say go with Avent. I think wide necked bottles are better if you are going to be breastfeeding, as the nipple has more of a natural feel to it and resembles your own nipple more.

i wanted "whats best" for my baby so i bought the anti colic playtex avance and vowed i would never use one of those regular plastic ones... and turns out i HATE the way the playtex ones are designed they do NOT clean properly.. and now that she is 3 months old.. shes drinkin more out of a regular plastic bottle.. much easier to clean.. and i dont find any gas difference.. and there 100x cheaper... those and the playtex dropins are nice too...i reuse the dropins for a couple feeds too.. there is no need to have to replace it after EVERY feed... just wash it good with hot soapy water after there done eating...

We use the glass bottles from BornFree. It's about 10 bucks a bottle but very well worth the money considering the danger of plastic bottles containing BPA! I KNOW my child is worth the extra money. It's even vent free and my 5 month old loves the nipple and flow of the BornFree bottles!!!
