Convenience Or Conviction? Give a recent example.Daniel and His Friends Obey God 1 In the third year of the reign of Jehoiakim king of Judah, Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came to Jerusalem and besieged it. 2 And the Lord gave Jehoiakim king of Judah into his hand, with some of the articles of the house of God, which he carried into the land of Shinar to the house of his god; and he brought the articles into the treasure house of his god.3 Then the king instructed Ashpenaz, the master of his eunuchs, to bring some of the children of Israel and some of the king’s descendants and some of the nobles, 4 young men in whom there was no blemish, but good-looking, gifted in all wisdom, possessing knowledge and quick to understand, who had ability to serve in the king’s palace, and whom they might teach the language and literature of the Chaldeans. 5 And the king appointed for them a daily provision of the king’s delicacies and of the wine which he drank, and three years of training for them, so that at the end of that time they might serve before the king. 6 Now from among those of the sons of Judah were Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah. 7 To them the chief of the eunuchs gave names: he gave Daniel the name Belteshazzar; to Hananiah, Shadrach; to Mishael, Meshach; and to Azariah, Abed-Nego. 8 But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s delicacies, nor with the wine which he drank; therefore he requested of the chief of the eunuchs that he might not defile himself.

Convenience: I find it far more convenient to not believe in something that requires that I bend logic and toss aside any evidence that is contrary to its veracity/existence.

Convenience, if by that you mean not suffering pointlessly for somebody else's convictions. Not the broadest of options, but then those of "deep convictions" seldom offer alternatives.

Huh! Neither constant convinience or conviction is of the Lord. Otherwise all His children would be dirt poor and too starved to share the truth

"I have searched over the grounds of my belief, and if wife and child and name and fame were all to be lost to me one after the other as the penalty, still I will not lie."I can't put it better than T H Huxley, on his atheism, and mine.I've twice resigned posts on principle, when I was asked to operate against my code of ethics.

I say conviction. It makes me think of where I work. Many are tempted to cheat and get the job done quicker (convenient) although it's not the right way to do it. I try to do it the right way, which in the long run tends to take longer. It's tempting sometimes to do it the easy way (convenient) but many times, but not always, the cheaters have gotten caught and end up having to do their job all over again. So it's best if I stick to doing it right, then having to worry about whether I'm gong to get caught or not.Plus I'm working as for the Lord and not men. Have a blessed day.
