| I did a favor for someone and they gave me a few bottles of wine as a thank you. Is it proper to send a thank you card thanking them for the gift? So it would be thanking them for thanking me. Or is that overkill? When I've given them gifts as thanks for a favor, they've never sent me a TY card in return. Not insinuating that that's correct or not, just additional info. Would an e-mail simply saying that the wine was good be a good way to deal with it? |

I think that an email would be a good idea. It wont come across as you took a long time to do it, but would be considered as polite |

tell them the wine ws great and be done with it! no card i think that is overkill. thank you for the thank you gift lol. on second thought.. you could do it as a joke maybe they would get a laugh out of it if you made it comical. |

Sending a Thank You card in reply to their "thank you" present would be a little much. An e-mail saying you enjoyed the wine would be much more appropriate |

| E-mail is fine or if you already thanked them when they gave it to you that's fine too. Otherwise you get stuck in a never-ending loop- thank you for the thank you gift!...well thank you for saying thanks!...etc etc etc |

| An email letting them how you are enjoying the wine is a lovely idea, and certainly not overkill. You are acknowledging that they did a generous thing, which is always a nice idea. You don't have to make it a thank you for a thank you, lol, but a "just wanted to lett you know how much I'm enjoying the wine you gave me, and I appreciate it" would be nice. |

| Thanking someone for their thank you gift is overly formal and definitely overkill. Feel free to send them an email expressing your appreciation or invite them over to share in their thoughtful thank you gift. |
