I know they usually get a lot of $ but what be appropriate gift from a friend?I called my Jewish aunt and she said something about if it was really fancy get her $36 but if it was semi fancy, get her $18 dollars. Give her $18. No, I'm not crazy. $18 dollars is all she needs.

i think i'd probably get her like a regular bday present. I no that if you are good family friends, then people get stuff like earings or necklaces from tiffanys, itunes gift cards, 50-100 bucks, ipods, clothes, books, etc. If its just a regular friend, buy them like cute earings or a 20 bucks itunes card or a magazine subscription. like a bday present.

What about sharing past memories together by having a DVD Slideshow put together. I have given these before for numerous occasions and they are always a hit.You can combine personal / memorable photos with music customized to your preferences.I have used CT Imaging in the past, they are located at http://www.ctimaging.com
