| Some gift cards just don't work with the retailer's account. It is not uncommon for a gift crd bearing the visa or Amex logo to be unable to process through a retailer's merchant account. Call the 800 number on the back of your gift card, and just verify that it is active, and ask them if you can use it at whatever site you are trying, as they will know more definetively. If you can use it at a store, you should be able to use it on a major retailer's site (like WalMart or Target). Smaller sites sometimes just aren't able to process the cards. |
