|
|
My boyfriend's birthday is coming up and so far I'm thinking to get him:A- cologne gift set + gift card to his favorite clothing store or B- a diamond ring. Which one seems more appropriate for a birthday gift? I don't want to give him the feeling that I'm trying to propose to him as I'm getting him a ring though, lol. but then, the ring looks very very nice and I have a strong feeling that he'd love this - I've heard from his bestfriend that he's been looking for a ring recently. So what do you think?ThanksWe've been dating for 4 years. Well for the diamond ring, it's not really a traditional wedding band/engagement ring. It's a little chunky and the diamond is only about 0.25 carat, decorated with 2 small sky-blue gemstones.

Give him something that he will REALLY like - something that begins with a "b" and ends with a "b".

It really depends on how long you've been together, but still, I'd go with Option A. If you have been together for a very long time, go ahead and get the ring! But try to find one that's chunky and gold/silver. Diamonds may not be his thing, so it's best to go simple- especially if its a guy! =]Good Luck!

Go for the cologne. Guys rarely wear diamond rings, but he'll really use the cologne and gift card. Go shopping with him with the gift card. Make it a date!

A- would be a better present for a guyBUT...B- because it is something you know he will enjoy cause that is what he wants so i would go for this one.

I would get him the ring if thats really what you feel he wants but maybe when you give it to him just mention to him in like a non-mean way that its not a marriage/engagement sort of ring and then romantically tell him maybe sometime later though or something to let him know you love him very much but thats not what it is.

I would go with the ring because it seems more original and thought out then just a gift set and a gift card.

Four years is a pretty significant time to spend with another person, and I'm sure you want this birthday to be a declaration of how wonderful you think he is.I think your ideas are great, but I'm not sure the ring is such a great idea...at least now. I think a ring is something he should be the first one to give, not the other way around. But what a fantastic gift to look forward to, when you are officially engaged or for a birthday when and if you are married. In the meantime, I bet he'd really like some tickets to a sporting event, some clothes (most guys hate to shop and are relieved when their gals get them something they look cool in), or better yet, treat him to an evening out (a guys 2 favorite words: I'll pay) and then go clothes shopping together. No matter what you decide, he's lucky to have such a thoughtful caring person in his life.

I would give him a really nice trendy watch instead. A ring, I think, would give him the impression of you wanting to get a ring in return and the promise of marriage to go with the ring. And watches, nowadays, usually have diamonds on them.

I am with you . It is very difficult to keep thinking up gifts all the time. I have been with my b/f for 5 years and his birthday is coming up. I was stuck until one friend told me to get him a flying lesson. I just bought it for $80. They teach them about the plane and let the person co-pilot for an hour. It might be an idea if you think your b/f would be into it.
