No gifts. A simple letter saying you noticed the anniversary is sufficient. Anything else seems clingy.

Of course you can! Its just a way to celebrate bein together -- nothing too extravagant is called for here, but a little trinket of love is cute.

Giving gifts every few months for anniversaries, etc. depreciate the real ones. Maybe just a phone call or something small. Then when your second anniversary comes have a blowout.

It is up to you - why not buy him a gift to surprise him and show that you care about him. Maybe do it for that reason. He might not appreciate the anniversary like you do, but he might appreciate that you were thinking about him (but he is your bf so you might know whether that is the case or not). It might not be possible, but maybe you could organise a visit as a gift for both of you - soon or for two years (it does not take long for six months to do by sometimes). Good luck.

Nope. Not for a year and a half. You could maybe acknowlledge the fact that you have been together for a year and a half, and maybe send him a card letting him know you are thinking of him, and that you have been together for this amount of time. I definately say no to the gift idea though.

I think you should not exchange gifts, just make it annual gift exchange, as to keep the tradition special. |

A gift of memory is great for this amount of time youre dating. I did this as my gift to an ex when we dated 1 and a half years. I bought little boxes of different shapes and small bottles and because me and him kept track of our dating by months I put 18 boxes/bottles in one gift box that I made and wrote one memory per box and made it into a scroll for the bottles. He loved it! He still has it even though we just friends now. Creativity and memories go a long way and guys apreciate it more,,,, and its way cheaper.

It depends on your relationship, but if it were me, absolutely not. Remember, the anniversary isn't about the gifts, it's about celebrating your relationship.

How about a nice candlelit dinner for two, or a nice picnic for two. It shows you acknowledge the time you got married and took the time to fix up something nice. Anyone can give a gift, but the gift of quality time together is much more precious.Enjoy your day, and Happy 1 1/2 to you both!Karen
