| Something they can use over the summer. Like a cruise for two. Also, something that lasts, not chocolates or flowers. Something that they can still have in 5 years and be able to remember you, like a gemstone globe, but those things are expensive, but so is a cruise. It depends on how your teacher is like.I have given my teachers gift albums. |

(with one copy sent to my administrator and one to me As far as material gifts... i love gift certificates. Any restaurant, movie theater and especially the DOLLAR TREE! | I as an art teacher appreciate gift certificates from a local art store, as you might imagine teachers do spend quite a bit of their own money on school supplies. |

| Pencils and colored construction paper. Pencils because teachers are always loaning them out and not always getting them back. Construction paper for the corkboards in the classroom, which have to be redone every year.A photograph of yourself, signed with your name, class name, and year on the back, with a "Thank you, Mr [name of teacher], for being my teacher this year. (Believe me, this generates more good will than you'd think). |

As a fifth grade teacher, I can tell you what some of my favorite things have been. I know we're limited to the amount we can accept from each family per year, so you may want to check the policy with your child's school before you buy gifts.Gift cards to:Barnes & NobleBordersBed Bath & Beyond or Linens n ThingsLocal nail salonLocal restaurantsMovie theaterBlockbuster/Movie rentalsHome Depot or Lowe'sThe Container StoreSome of these are for classroom stuff - obviously others are for relaxing down time! |

| The best gifts I have gotten are the truly heartfelt thank you letters. Those mean more to me than anything else. All the trinkets get pushed to the back of the closet, all the food is either eaten or given away, but if someone has taken time to give me a real, sincere thank you card for what I've done and the difference I've made, those are PRICELESS. |

| Gift cards to office supply stores (Like Staples or Office Max) are great. Teachers can always use more pens, markers, pencils, etc. ! |

| You could embroidery a design in words and some flowers or whatever and have it framed. Then wrap it up.The embroidery pieces are really impressive in red frames. The teacher will appreciate it as it will be hand-made by you. |

| This is something unique you could do What you could do is get a small flower pot and put some thing in it that resembles grass.Stick a good bar in it and put because you are a good teacherget a Almond Joy and say you full t he classroom with joy You could also get the Wrigley's double mint and that could have some thing attached to it that says you are mint to be my teacher. You could use other candy or chocolate just make sure you have a saying that includes the candy or chocolate's name. Or you can just give them gift certificates to teacher supply store like Staples or office max Good luck! |
