I have been in a similar situation. I got a basket (usually you can just find one. I got it from a neighbor who was throwing it out anyway!!) Get a bottle of wine and some glasses (get them at the dollar store) decorate them with some tied on satin ribbons in the bridal party colors. Get some candles in the same colors and some inexpensive glass candle holders. You could include a gift cert for steaks or fish from a local market. Wrap up in some netting (really inexpensive at Joann fabrics) and tie with some ribbons in the wedding colors. I have done this and it was the HIT of the gift table!!! Good luck!!

Make up a little kitchen themed basket with a cookbook, some unusual kitchen gadgets, a kitchen towel set, etc. Or just go with a set of pretty towels.

Kudos for you for showing class and not retaliating against this person by giving her, say, socks. A gift card to any of the places on her registry is appropriate. For a shower, $25 is fine. She can use the card to work on finishing off her registry once her wedding is over. Also, for a shower, a present off of the registry is not required, especially if you will be attending the wedding and buying another gift. Consider a bottle of wine--many can be had for less than $15. I like Coppola wines--they are high quality, not too expensive, and always a conversation piece, as the winery is owned by filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola (Godfather). Wrap it in a nice wine bag and be done with it. Bath and body products, especially since that's what she got for your shower, is not a terrible gift if it's classy. Sephora (www.sephora.com) carries Philosophy soap, bath and body wash, perfume, bath oil, etc. in a new "Falling in Love" theme. Buy a few products and have them wrapped nicely. (If there is no Sephora near you, their shipping is very fair and they wrap for free.) Offer your congratulations on "falling in love" on the greeting card and she'll be happy.
