After being married for 50 years I would think they have enough stuff around the house. I would give them a gift certificate to a play or dinner Who would not want a night out.

They are called the Golden Wedding Anniversary so give them something Gold like photo frame or golden plate. It doesnt have to be personal if you are not very close to the Couple.

Well, you could go to any 'mainline store' and go to their 'gifts and housewares' floor and ask a clerk ... and that would be a 'good gift' that would probably be 'expensive' and not any 'different' from most gifts. Try making them a 'basket' of goodies from the 'grocery store' ... it could be an 'assortment' of herbal and black/orange and 'flavored' teas, or of 'coffees' (if you get 'beans' be sure they get a 'grinder' too), or it could be the 'makings' for some 'ethnic dish' with some 'small things' from that country to act as their 'table decor' ... or you could just get them a 'gift card' for AT LEAST $50 that would allow them to 'choose' from a 'variety of stores' ... and you should be able to 'buy the card' at the grocery store if you have a 'large supermarket' near you. Put it into a 'card bear' and put it into a nice gift box ... and get a 'cute card' and say 'For the KID that is still in both of you!' or something similar ...

Hi, Probably your husband has a photo of the couple together. Maybe even more than one.You can transform the photo into a painting and give them a unique gift they will remember. Maybe a photo when both are together on a trip they went. You can use a service such as http://www.paintyourlife.com/ They have professional artists, that are not expensive. They can transform your photo, creating a new painting. They can paint in water color, oil, pencil and many other cool benefits. Then as final touch you can also request a wooden frame for the painting (from same website).Karl Sultana
