either give them a gift card, or if they are registered somewhere go check out the list and pick something(s) from that.

How about a nice picture frame with a picture of the 2 of you in it. Get the same one for yourself as well. Each time either of you look at it it will bring back warm memories of your childhood friendship. Best wishes.......................

You could start a scrapebook for them with their wedding things and they could fill it in for the remainder of the 1st yr of marriage.Or make one out of all the pics from the wedding...Make up a special gift basket for their wedding night. Chocolates, strawberries, whipped cream, fruits, cheeses, wine, champagne, candles, massage oils, toys and etc...

What about making a basket of goodies for their honeymoon/wedding night. You can put in a bottle of wine or champagne, candles, rose petals, sexy lingerie, boxers, and to add a bit of humor a whip or some body paint.Or more traditional...a gift card to a home improvement or housewares store, their favorite restaurant, or money.Hope you have a great time.

Since this is your best friend why not make an album of pictures of the two of you through the years you spent having a great time growing up. You can put wonderful memories and quotes also in the book. It will be a treasure she will keep forever!

When I got married I registered at a couple of different places. Ask your friend if she is registered. If she isn't, I know that the gifts that I appreciated the most were picture frames and bedding. New frames to display new wedding photos is always a great gift. New sheets and matching blankets are special because they are the first bed clothes shared as husband and wife. Money is also nice because it comes in handy on the honeymoon. I hope that I helped.

Either give them cash or find something off of their registry list that you know they will use a lot or will especially appreciate you getting them (something that relates to their favorite hobby, etc.) Demonstrative gifts can be nice, but at the end of the day I think most couples starting out will be much happier to have something they need/can use daily than something expensive or decorative that won't be as important as the pots and pans or salad shooter they wanted people to buy them.

Whenever I am invited as a wedding guest I give knives! I know this sounds crazy, (I know most people don't like to ascosiate their marriage with weapons) but my gift never got duplicated because nobody thinks of it; and nobody has ever returned them! If you go for it; get a nice, high quality set with the holder so she doesn't get cut digging through a drawer full of knives. Even a decent set shouldn't be that much money.

Take lots of pictures, and give them a photo album with "before" pictures, put copies of the invitations (batchelorette party and wedding) followed by what pictures you have. Make the last page the wedding invitations with blank pages for them to fill.
