overstock.com is my favorite. they have the 'normal' gifts as well as some imported ones. i have never had a bit of trouble with them.

First of all you can go to google and type free shipping gifts and get alot of sites. Try Smart Bargins...3.95 shipping. As far as your mother. Thing of who she is. Gourmet..maybe wine... does she take care of herself as far as using oils and such..does she never leave the house without makeup or perfume..ask yourself these questions and you will find your answer for your mother. How about sending a gift and then by mail. a card..

Here are some sites that deliver to Alaska that might work for you.http://www.1800flowers.com/Shipping Info:http://ww11.1800flowers.com/template.do?id=template2&page=4003#3http://shop.avon.com/Shipping is $5.95 for standard deliveryhttp://www.lillianvernon.com/Shipping appears to be up to $8.99http://www.lillianvernon.com/custserv/customer.jsp?sectionId=232I agree with the other post about Overstock (http://www.overstock.com/) being a great site to shop at. I shop there a lot. However, if you read their shipping policy, they do charge extra on top of their standard $2.95 shipping for delivery to Alaska. It depends on weight and size. It appears that most sites have to charge more for delivery to Alaska and I really haven't found any exceptions. One thing you could try to do to help out with the cost is look for coupons for the store you are shopping at. If you can save 10%, 20%, etc on the product, the savings can go toward the extra shipping cost. Hope that makes sense. You can find coupons by doing a search in Yahoo or Google for the store name and then the word coupon.
