In a previous question I had asked I was trying to understand a bit more why it is that when we as men give you ladies flowers or chocolate (in other words gifts that will be gone in a few short days) it seems to be met with mild dissapointment, however, if we buy you a cute shirt, a teddy bear, or even lingerie, you seem happier with that gift?

Hmmm... well, lasting gifts can be more sentimental. I mean, roses definitely are too, but a girl can wear that shirt two years later and remember when she first started dating you But hey, personally I wouldn't be disappointed with flowers OR chocolate! Especially if it's something fancy I'd never buy for myself... like Godiva - mmmmm =) |

You've answered your own question. I would say most people like things they can keep. We must all be materialistic and greedy hahaha

Women need something that tells us that you want to be with us for a long time. Chocolate and flowers die off and are temporary gifts. Now teddy bears lingerie jewelry or even a shirt represent longevity it says "i care for you deeply". It's a love token. Hope this helps.

Ok, well, that I can't tell you, b/c I really do love anything my bf gets me. Last week, he just bought me a hairstyle mag for short hair cut ideas b/c he was apparently paying attention to what I was saying to my friend about wanting to cut my hair, even while he was playing the PS3 w/my brother (no small feat, mind you). I'm always touched that he does little things like this for me exactly when I don't expect anything that makes me love him so much. Sounds silly, but I save wrappers from candies he's bought me and press the flowers he's gotten for me in books. For this chick, it's the little things that count for a lot b/c they're sincerely thoughtful.
