| i have to travel far and stay at a hotel over night which is going to cost me lot. is it cheap of me not to give cash? |

| I'm assuming that you are friends with your employer or would not be going thru the expense and travel for the wedding? If just an employer/employee relationship, pick something off of their registry and go with it. |

| They are probably registered somewhere and most couples are very good about getting a variety of items in a wide array of price points, so that way you get them what they asked for and you keep to your budget.You could pool money with other employees to get a really nice gift as well. | Frankly, I think it's not a good idea to ever give an employer cash. Better, especially in a town far from you would be a gift certificate for two to a fine restaurant. You don't have to go crazy on the expense, no one knows better then your employer how much you earn! |
